Peace Like A River
Just when this world was well and truly crushing me, the universe sent me a beautiful day. Moon still visible in the blue sky above the horse barn late morning. Curious horses wuffling my arm. A black rat snake and a great blue heron sharing the mud along the lakeshore, native persimmon trees laden down with not-quite-ripe fruit.
At the end of it all, a little boy eager to teach me how to sit quietly for meeting for worship with an acorn in hand to focus on. He closed this lesson with the “peace like a river in my heart” verse from the old spiritual.
For a moment, I was able to remember that the only thing we can ever do is the next right thing.
Fight Like A Brave
Getting sick and tired of being sick and tired / Sick of all the bullshit and sick of all the lies.
La La Love You
My bright shining little light is now 6.
La la love ya, don’t mean maybe.
Union Maid
I’m sticking to the union to the day I die.
Happy Labor Day.
