George Bush Doesn’t Like Black People

Watching Louisiana drown again eleven years after Katrina is surreal. Or rather, not watching it. It’s not on the news, it’s not in the papers. There are no moving celebrity appeals or chilling videos of people fighting for their lives.

Maybe that means that FEMA is there, the Red Cross is there, people are being evacuated and cared for. Maybe it means we’re numb.

The best thing to come out of the aftermath of Katrina was this protest song.

Kind of ironic that it’s generally unavailable thanks to Kanye objecting to the use of his song as part of a protest that was sparked by the only decent thing Kanye ever did (yeah, I said that). As such, you’ll have to click the link.

After all that we’ve been through, nothin’s changed.
